The red carpet for the 2021 Billboard Music Awards delivered us everything we were missing dearly during the year of awkward Zoom award shows – good-looking celebrities in shit hot outfits. The Billboard Music Awards are known for their preference of technicolour, dazzling and campy outfits over the elegant ball gowns of a Grammys ceremony – and this year certainly delivered.
Hosted by Nick Jonas from the Microsoft Theatre in LA, it was a treat to see our faves gather and celebrate an amazing year in music. Some of the winners were announced prior to the ceremony on Instagram Live – and The Weeknd truly annihilated – taking home seven awards. And after his infamous Grammy snub, this was so well-deserved.
Here are our fave red carpet moments from this year’s Billboard Music Awards.
Alicia Keys well and truly stole the show this year. This dramatic and chic Valentino look, in the most gorgeous shade of pink, is just everything we love about a red carpet.
Kehlani also joined the trend of vibrant pinks and reds on the carpet this year. She looks absolutely stunning wearing Tony Ward.
This iconic look takes a classic black gown and completely changes it up. It’s sexy, sleek and show-stopping. We love you, SZA.
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly
These two make the list not because their looks are iconic (I mean, they are), but because they’re the most chaotic and PDA-heavy couple in Hollywood. By far. Megan of course looks absolutely babein’ in this sultry black dress, while MGK dyed his tongue black for some reason and kind of looks like Eric from early True Blood seasons. Of course, they had to have an unsolicited PDA moment when Megan grabbed MGK’s crotch and licked his black tongue. And they say love is dead.
Obsessed with this quirky striped number on Doja Cat – it’s giving me circusy Beetlejuice vibes, with really wonderful hair and makeup. Doja just does not miss when it comes to fashion.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas
Nick and Priyanka and always magnificently dressed, and today is no exception. Nick’s wearing an emerald Fendi number with a playful variety of textures and a sleek gold wallet chain. Looking stunning as per usual, Priyanka is rocking this sheer sparkly Dolce & Gabbana gown.
Low-key obsessed with these quirky-dorky-chic ensembles from Glass Animals. They look like your incredibly hip and painfully sweet cousins who just opened a new venue in town to support local musicians. I love them.
Our fave Bad Bunny is looking iconic as per usual.
P!NK was (very deservingly) given this year’s ICON Award, and delivered an amazing high-flying aerial performance – featuring her nine year old daughter, Willow! On the red carpet, she paid homage to her name, rocking this stunning pink number.
The Weeknd took home a whopping seven awards this year at the Billboard Music Awards. He also looks divine and classic on the red carpet – where can I get one of these coats please?
